Board Members

Theta Corporation of Alpha Chi Omega
is governed by a 9-member Board of Directors. Each Director serves for a three year term and is elected at the Annual Meeting. Our Board of Directors play an instrumental role in the decisions related to the Corporation and the function and maintenance of the Chapter house. As dedicated volunteers, we value their expertise and commitment to AXO.

Career: I have worked for many years as a psychologist in the public and private sectors. More recently, I have been using my knowledge and skills in a wide variety of volunteer positions as well.

Best AXO Memory: My many wonderful memories include serving as Chapter President, the talks, laughs and friendships made at 1212 Hill, and the party where I met my husband.

Today: I am married to Bernie and we have 3 'post college' daughters. We love living in Ann Arbor!

KRISTEN KRUEGER-KUCH, Vice President

Theta 1987

BA OBHRM 1990; MHR 1993 (University of South Carolina)

Career:  I have worked for many years in the field of Human Resources, helping corporations and business ventures attract the talent they need for their success.

Best AXO Memory:  My fondest memory was making the University smaller by meeting women with whom I shared much in common.

Today:  I am a mother to a middle school-age boy.  I enjoy volunteering at his school. Being back in Ann Arbor after college opens up a whole different side of life in this town.  I recently re-entered the workforce and have confirmed my love for my chosen career-- recruiting.

Career:   I have worked for many years in the field of Talent Enhancement, helping corporations and business ventures attract and retain the competitive human resources they need for success. I also have created career counseling programs and resources for high school students.

Best AXO Memory:  One of my fondest memories was the friendliness and instant feeling of sisterhood during our first bid night gathering.

Today:  I am still passionate about talent attraction, retention and development.  I currently lead a talent consulting and recruiting firm to help employers and communities solve their talent challenges through innovative programs and approaches.

Best AXO Memory:  We lived in a 12-bed dormer on the 3rd floor and shared a large study suite. It was fun being a group and getting to know everyone as roommates.

LYNN ELLEN STONE WHITE, Past President
Theta 1964
BA Education

Career: I taught second grade at Houghton School in Saline from 1967-1970. After that, I was a stay at home mom, school and community volunteer, and a part time sales secretary in a real estate office.

Best AXO Memory: I loved living and learning with my "sisters," many of whom are my best friends to this day. I also enjoyed learning about teamwork in keeping the chapter and house running smoothly by everyone doing their part … being an officer, chairing an activity, or supporting a philanthropic endeavor.

Today: I am retired and enjoying all that Ann Arbor has to offer in lectures, concerts and theater. I volunteer at the Ann Arbor Thrift Shop, belong to Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, do some needlework
for Arbor Hospice, play Bunco, golf, and bridge, belong to a couples' group at our church, and a book group. We enjoy Camp Michigania with our grandchildren.

REBECCA BANFIELD GAFFNEY, Past President

Beta Epsilon 1966 (Michigan State University)

BA Sociology/Social Work 1969

Career:  I worked for 20 years in faculty support for the University of Michigan Business School.

Best AXO Memory: Returning to beautiful MSU each fall - the AXO house on Burcham Drive - to renew old friendships and make new ones and get through another year together. In hindsight, the personal growth was enormous; learning how to get along living with 55 young women. That experience definitely helped prepare me for the real world. Mostly, it was a lot of fun.

Today:  I am retired and involved in several volunteer groups, including 1st Presbyterian Church. I love to travel and frequently go to visit my twin grandchildren in North Carolina.

MARGARET JOSEPH KRASNOFF

Best AXO Memory:  Living in the chapter house at 1735 Washtenaw for two years with good friends.

Today: I am an attorney in private practice in Ann Arbor. I also enjoy tap dancing and creating miniatures for dollhouse projects.

MARILYN MIX RODAK

Theta 1960

Career: For 51 years, I have owned a children's clothing store- Cecilia Melody's, in the downtown district of Wyandotte, Michigan. I started this business with my mother in 1962.

Best AXO Memory: The candle ceremony during my junior year at the University of Michigan. The house mother woke up all the AXO's in the middle of the night. We stood in a circle and she lit a candle that was passed from girl to girl. We all sang" Alpha Chi How We Love Thy Name" and I was privileged to blow the candle out as I had become engaged over the holidays.

Today: I am a wife of 51 years and mom of three wonderful children and 10 grandchildren.
